What is a sauna?

A sauna is usually an area heated to between 70° to 100° Celsius or 158° to 212° Fahrenheit.

Traditional Finnish saunas usually use dry heat, with a ratio that's often between 10 and 20 percent. In other sauna types, the moisture is higher. Turkish-style saunas, for instance , involve a greater level of humidity.

A sauna can raise the skin temperature up to 40° Celsius or 104° Fahrenheit. When the skin temperature increases, heavy sweating occurs in our body. The heart rate rises because the body attempts to stay cool. It is not uncommon to lose a few pint of sweat while spending a brief time during a sauna.

Types of saunas

There are several sorts of sauna, supported how the space is heated. These include:

Wood burning: Wood is employed to heat the sauna room and sauna rocks. This type of saunas are usually high in temperature and low in humidity.

Electrically heated: It is just like wood-burning saunas. Electrically heated saunas have low humidity and high temperatures . An electrical heater, attached to the ground , heats the sauna room.

Infrared room: (FIRS) Far-infrared saunas are different than wood burning and electrically heated saunas. Special lamps use light waves to heat an individual's body, not the whole room. Temperatures are typically less than other saunas, but the person sweats during a similar way. Usually, infrared saunas are about 60° Celsius.

Steam room: These are different from saunas. Instead of dry heat, a steam bath involves high humidity and moist heat.
